BTME 2016 Stand A55

BTME 2016 Stand A55

Aitkens are set to showcase their successful Award range of fertilisers at BTME with Ultima and Nutri-Pro on show alongside a range of other products that have led the company to such a successful year.

Aitkens has been supplying Stockport based Reddish Vale Golf Club with many products for some years now and Head Greenkeeper Nick Wild is in no doubt about the effectiveness of his choices.

"After some debate we decided to use the Award Ultima 5-0-15 in our October renovation and within seven to eight days the colour and density improved massively. We're now coming to the end of November and the colour, even with all the rain, is still there," he said.

Rob Clare Course Manager of Brough Golf Club, East Riding Yorkshire is delighted with the results of his weed control programme. After applying the selective systemic herbicide Holster XL on his greens, hardy weeds such as Daisy, Slender Speedwell, Dandelion, Creeping Buttercup and Clover have all but disappeared.

"We applied the Aitkens Holster XL to the greens last year knowing it's a very effective method of weed control" said Rob.

But it's not only golf courses which have seen the benefits; it is across the natural turf sports surface spectrum. The example of Trent Bridge goes some way to explaining the success of the Award range as the Ultima fertiliser was used to great effect at one of English cricket's famous grounds by Steve Birks, head groundsman, at the Nottingham based stadium.

Speaking about the Award product earlier in the year Steve recognised the difference the fertiliser had made since he started using it two years ago.

"It's improved the colour, the root depth and everything so we've been very impressed with it," he said.

"We started noticing a difference in colour and the density of the sward improved along with everything else within three months of using it."

All of Aitkens products have had an impact at some of the Britain's best sporting venues this year including Celtic's Park Head stadium - where Blade 7 grass seed goes into its tenth year of use - and the award winning Hamilton Park Race Course where a trio of Aitkens products in Terralift Year Round, T-Thatch and Rocastem were used on the course.

Visiting the Aitkens stand at BTME is a great opportunity to see how our range of 919 products could benefit your playing surface whilst speaking to our experienced reps can give you a greater insight into what Aitkens can do for you.
